B-52s In Concert - Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson
It was Thursday October 6th in Nashville, TN when the B-52s made their tour stop at the Wildhorse Saloon to thrill a Sold-Out crowd. The place had plenty of festive fans dressed up and ready to dance and sing along with the classic hits provided by the B-52s. Mike, James, and Tom of Concert Blast enjoyed the night as much as the rest of those in attendance.

Our CMA Music Fest 2011 Coverage continues as the second night of the festival, the Friday Night Stadium Concerts, thrilled 50,000 plus country music fans with a lineup of arena headliners. Here’s Part 5 of our 2010 Concert Blast Posts. This video takes you through our experiences in Memphis, TN with REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar, in Nashville, TN at the Bridgstone Arena with the Scorpions and Ratt, Paul McCartney, as well as Crosby, Stills, and Nash with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. There was the Heart Concert at the Ryman, the Michael Bolton concert at the Wildhorse Saloon as well Hard Rockers Cinderella also at the Wildhorse Saloon. We also covered the Americana Music Festival shows from the Cannery which was a lot of fun!

Our podcast coverage included short interviews with fans and many live concert coverage with short clips from artists as John Fogerty, John Butler Trio, Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Against Me, and Dropkick Murphys.
CONCERT BLAST STAFF - Brian Hasbrook, Mike Arnold, Tom Thompson, James Downing
Concert Blast began with Mike Arnold, Brian Hasbrook, and Tom Thompson. Three guys who grew up together in the Nashville, TN area. These guys have attended hundreds (if not over a thousand) concerts.
Everytime the guys would get together with friends, they would all want to know about the shows they’ve seen and found themselves discussing these concerts for long periods of time.
Mike thought a music talk show would make a great radio show. After failing to convince radio stations/companies that this format could be good for radio, he gave up. A couple of years later, Mike was introduced to podcasting. He approached Brian and Tom about the idea of discussing concerts on a podcast and they said let’s do it! Concert Blast formed a family friendly podcast and the first podcast was uploaded in May of 2005.
Since our website began back in May of 2005 and have produced more than 200 audio shows with many blogs and posted photos.
We have been invited to cover many concerts and music festivals such as the Bonnaroo Music Festival (2006 – 2010), Memphis in May Beale Street Music Festival (2006 – 2011), CMA Music Festival (2007 – 2011) as well as many of the top Music Concerts (Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, Ringo Starr, Bob Seger, Billy Joel, Sheryl Crow, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Joan Jett, Night Ranger, and many more).
We usually feature Classic Rock acts, but we do not limit ourselves to it.
We were featured as one of the Top 5 Classic Rock podcasts from Classic Rock About.com.

The Elton John and Billy Joel Face 2 Face Tour rolled into Nashville’s Sommet Center Saturday night, May 16th, 2009, and what a show it was. A few minutes after 7:30 PM, two large floor panels in the huge stage started to open and up rose two grand pianos. The sold out crowd rose to it’s feet as The Piano Man himself, Billy Joel, strolled out from the right side of the stage. Shortly followed came Capt. Fantastic, Sir Elton John, from the left side. They met in the middle of the stage and greeted each other and then took their seats behind their keyboards.
Neither one of the legends wasted anytime giving the fans what they wanted. Elton started the show with “Your Song“, which is one of the all time favorites. His voice sounded just as good as it did when he first recorded this song 30 years ago. It then became dueling Piano Men as Billy Joel broke into “Just The Way You Are“. Each superstar took turns doing a song. This set consisted of two other songs, Elton’s “Dont Let The Sun Go Down On Me” and Billy’s “My Life“. At this time Billy left the stage and left it all to Elton.

Spring is in the air and it’s the month of May! For the last 4 years, Concert Blast has taken the road trip to Memphis, TN to report on the Beale Street Music Festival as part of the city’s Memphis In May festivities. Below is a report from Tom Thompson on the Friday night excitement as he and a couple of his friends enjoyed the festivities. Although the Music Festival continues during the rain, unfortunately the guys were rained out for the Saturday and Sunday shows.
Starting off we would like to thank our friends with Memphis in May for their hospitality. As it turned out, Friday was forecasted for rains all evening. Arriving at the festival we encountered just some overcast skies but otherwise a beautiful Memphis evening.
