It was the second night of the CMA Music Festival 2011, the Friday Night Stadium Concerts with a lineup of arena headliners. On the bill was Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Sugarland, Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, and a couple of surprises!

Each year the Grammy Awards are one of the most watched, most loved AND most hated television programs of the year. For those who only like one type of music it can be frustrating to watch and walking the line to makes sure several formats get represented in the performances and awards is always a daunting task for the producers. This was my third year behind the scenes of the show and as I always like to do, here are my notes on this year’s show.

For the last 14 years, the CMA Awards have consistently been one of my favorite projects to be a part of. I can only think of one show (the Grammys) that brings together the amount of talent and diversity that this one does. Each year brings it’s own set of interesting performances and results, and this year was no different. So, let’s get right to it!
