The Who celebrates 50 years in the music business by touring the USA in 2015. Not only will you get to celebrate with The Who, but opening on this tour will be one of Concert Blast‘s favorite live artists (and pal) Joan Jett & the Blackhearts! Joan will definitely get the crowd energized and ready for The Who to take the stage, but we call this a Double Bill! The Who returned to Nashville for the first time in many decades. In fact the last time The Who performed in Middle Tennessee was when they had the original lineup including Keith Moon and John Entwistle. That was “The Who By Numbers” tour in the mid 1970’s. Today there are only two original members still living and they are still performing with the energy level and playing ability they’ve always had, even though Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are now in their late 60s. The Who is currently on tour celebrating the anniversary of the Quadrophenia album. Brian Hasbrook and Mike Arnold were looking forward to seeing The Who again, but preferred a greatest hits show instead of a album concept show. THE WHO, one of rock’s legendary and defining bands, have announced a major North American arena tour where they’ll perform their iconic 1973 double album QUADROPHENIA in its entirety, along with a selection of WHO classics. The critically acclaimed QUADROPHENIA marked the British band’s second rock opera (after Tommy), raised the bar for rock albums as an art form and hit #2 on the U.S. Billboard album chart. Founding members ROGER DALTREY and PETE TOWNSHEND will be joined by Zak Starkey (drums), Pino Palladino (bass), Simon Townshend (guitar/backing vocals), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Loren Gold (keyboards/backing vocals) and Frank Simes (musical director, keyboards/backing vocals).
