It was Valentine’s Day weekend as Rick Springfield made another appearance to Nashville, TN to perform two nights at the Wildhorse Saloon. Concert Blast photographer Brian Hasbrook was on hand to take photos again this year on Saturday, February 13th. As a special request from Rick’s former bandmate, Jack White (not from the White Stripes) who happened to be in town, Brian also took photos of Jack singing ”Mustang Sally” on Rick’s encore.
Concert Blast interviewed Rick Springfield before his Wildhorse Saloon Sold-Out performance in Nashville, TN. Mike Arnold, Brian Hasbrook, and Tom Thompson spent some time with Rick Springfield discussing his live show, Nashville, performing Cover Songs, Acting, Embarassments, his upcoming Autobiography, and the Rick Springfield Cruise.
Special Thanks to James Downing and Terri Gibson for running the video cameras and for making this the first video podcast for Concert Blast. Enjoy this short interview with Rick Springfield!
What do you think of when you hear the name Rick Springfield? Soap opera star? Bubble gum rock? Teeny bopper rock? Well, you might think these things about him if you have never seen him live. If you have seen him live you will think rock star. The man hits the stage with so much energy and excitement that you have to wonder how he does it. After all, he was about to turn 60 years young.
I had made plans with two very good friends of mine, Julie and Sue, to take a weekend road trip to check out these two shows. We all met up in Memphis, TN and headed out for the drive to Tunica, MS. I had never been to this town before and was looking forward to it.
The one question that is asked to us more than anything is, “When is the Concert Blast book coming out?”. Now we can say Very Soon and now a preview is available for the public’s viewing through our signup list. Since the book is now in the finishing stages, it seems at this point it is set for a Spring of 2010 release.

It’s Rick Springfield’s yearly visit to the world’s famous Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, TN. This was one great night filled with Rick Springfield music. This year he made it easier for the Nashville men to charm their Classic Rock ladies for Valentines by taking them to one of his two dynamic shows. Not only does Rick Springfield have the charisma for the ladies, but he’s a hard rocking guitarist for the guys.
Rick Springfield definitely proved he’s a rocker during his two concerts he performed in Nashville. Rick began his Friday night show with Who Killed Rock and Roll, rocked through the night with his classic hits as Jessie’s Girl, I’ve Done Everything For You, Affair of the Heart, and many more. He the night ended with a fan favorite which he penned only a few years ago, Wasted.
