As the guys from Concert Blast reflect back on the coverage performed in 2013, we thought it would be better to show you with hundreds of photographs taken throughout the year in a video segment. The year’s photo coverage began with an interview with singer/songwriter/actress Jewel from our guest blogger/photographer friend Samantha Shrader and ended with Mike Arnold‘s visit to the annual Christmas 4 Kids benefit touring of tour buses. This year also included the Memphis in May Beale Street Music Festival, the CMA Music Festival, and the K-Love Fan Awards,  along with numerous concerts, interviews, and CD reviews throughout the year. Crowd for Grits and Glamour

As we continue our CMA Music Festival coverage from 2013, Mike Arnold narrated this podcast on some of the various stages that they have to offer for the fans in attendance.  The outside stages are free for all, but the intimate stage in the Music City Center (the Fan Fair area) had a ticket price with it, although the price was included if you had a four day stadium show admission ticket.  Enjoy listening to this podcast of the various performances by (in order) Lady Antebellum, Marshall Tucker Band, Grits and Glamour (which is Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan), Mac Powell (of Third Day with his rockin’ country side), Lucas Hoge, Bo Bice (with friend Hollywood Yates performing together), Wynonna, Julie Roberts, David Nail and The Goo Goo Dolls (yes at the CMA Fest!).  Enjoy listening to this podcast and/or reading Mike Arnold’s blog about the fun adventures.  Special Thanks to The Old Spaghetti Factory for sponsoring Concert Blast during the CMA Music Festival 2013!

CMA WEEK 2009 – Pam Tillis Concert Review (BLOG)

                    Written By James Downing

Country music fans are some of the most dedicated fans in music. Each year thousands of them from all over the world make the journey to Nashville, TN to take part in the CMA Music Festival. This year as usual there were concerts, meet and greets with the stars, and fan club parties where the fan can get up close and personal with their favorite singers and bands. Sunday night June 14th 2009, Pam Tillis, daughter of country music legend Mel Tillis, played the Wildhorse Saloon. There was a larger concert going on that night at LP Field so the crowd wasn’t that big, but the fans in attendance were die hard Pam Tillis fans.

Pam did a meet and greet before the show where she signed autographs, took pictures with the fans, and did something that I thought was very special. When she first entered the room she told the fans to stick around after they had their pictures made with her. After everything was signed and all the pictures were taken, she did a question and answer session and even pulled out a guitar and sung a song. She wanted to do another song but her husband told her that she was going on in 7 minutes. I have been to many of these meet and greets, but this is the first time that I have ever seen someone make it so up close and personal like Pam Tillis did that night.
