Mike Arnold, Brian Hasbrook, and James Downing close out the series from the CMA Fest 2010 coverage with interviews with Bo Bice, Burns and Poe, Chelsea Field, Susan Hickman, and a preview from the CMT Secret Concert.
This show begins with the Saturday CMA coverage as Mike, Brian, and James start the day at the Nashville club, Limelight, where Bo Bice held his fan club party. Bo provided a breakfast, a short concert from some of his new material from his new CD 3, and a meet and greet with his fans.
Bo Bice also met with the selected media for a short press conference. We are so thankful that we were accepted to speak with him again. Bo was so much fun!
This podcast then jumps to the local club, The Listening Room, as the guys enjoyed a special performance by Burns and Poe and an interview with the duet. They were also a lot of fun as all four of the guys were in attendance to enjoy their set and fun personalities.
New country sensation, Chelsea Field, was next on the interview agenda as Mike and Brian spoke to her in an upstairs backstage room at Cadillac Ranch before her Saturday evening performance. In fact, while Mike and brian were speaking with her, we heard announcements from the stage and thought they were announcing her to take the stage so the interview was cut short.
Mike and Brian also spoke with soulful country music singer and Houston native, Susan Hickman backstage at Cadillac Ranch after her Friday evening performance. This was Susan’s first Nashville performance and she handled the packed house well.
Mike, Brian, and James went to the Nashville Convention Center to see who was there signing autographs. Most of the ones we visited were not at their booth although Mindy McCready took time to wave at us and pose for us. The largest crowd were at the Rascals Flatt booth where about 1500 fans were there as they answered questions and performed a few songs acoustically.
The guys headed to Gretchen Wilson’s booth to find a man sitting there alone. When asked where Gretchen was, the man told the Concert Blast staff about Gretchen performing at the CMT Secret Concert at the Wildhorse Saloon in a couple of hours. That’s when Mike, Brian, and James headed out to eat lunch and then over to the Wildhorse Saloon to cover the CMT Secret Concert. Tom Thompson came out to join the team at The Wildhorse in time to see Gretchen Wilson and Chris Young perform.
The entire team then headed to the Bridgestone Arena to enjoy their closing set for the day with a performance by Bo Bice. When Bo saw the team, he began to tell everyone how great Concert Blast is.
What a great way to end the day. The podcast closes out with a sound-seeing tour of a walk down broadway, from the arena to 2nd Avenue. There are all kinds of musical sounds which describes the music culture of Nashville, TN and which earned Nashville the title of “Music City!”
